Suzanne Evans, Dancer and Teacher

Suzanne Evans was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and studied dance at the National Academy of Arts before obtaining a B.A. in Dance at the University of Tennessee. She was a scholarship student at the Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey schools in New York City. She then danced with the Richmond Ballet and toured with other dance and theatre companies. Locally in Buffalo, New York, Suzanne has danced with Zodiac Dance Theatre of the University at Buffalo and has performed in many Neglia Ballet Artists performances including Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote and Spartacus. She is a founding member and past president of the Neglia Ballet Artists board of directors.

Suzanne teaches "Gentle Moves" Dance Exercise Classes Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's-Grace Episcopal Church, 51 Colonial Circle (Richmond at Lafayette). This recreational exercise program incorporates gentle ballet and modern dance movements to improve balance, strength and flexibility without stress and strain.
